The Description The Great Pyramid was 145.5 m tall when built. It ranked as the tallest structure on earth for 43 centuries. Approximately two million, 2- ton bricks were used on this structure. Corridors, galleries, and escape shafts either led to the kings chamber, or served as other rooms. The sarcophagus of the king was made of red granite, as were the interior walls of the chamber. Most impressive was the sharp-edged stone over the doorway. This stone was 3 m long, 2.4 m high, and 1.3 m thick.
