  1. Acid rain • Acid rain described any form of precipitation with high levels of nitric and sulfur acids. It can also occur in the form of snow, fog, and tiny bits of spray material that settle to earth. Rotting vegetations and erupting volcanoes release some chemicals that can cause acid rain, but most acid falls because of human activites.The biggest compost is the burning of fossil fuels by coal-burning power plants,facotires,auto mobiles.

ACID RAIN EFFECTS • Acid rain causes acidification of lakes and streams and contributes to damage of trees at high elevation(for example,red spruce trees above 2,000) and many sensitive forest soils. In addition,acid rain accelertes the decay of building materials and paints,including irreplaceable buildings, statues, and sculptures that are part of our nation’s culture heritage.
