ORIGINS OF THE TEA • Discovered Accidentally in 2737 B.C. in China by the Emperor Shen Nung. • He was boiling water and the breeze made that some leaves of a tree fell into the water.
THE TEA IN JAPAN • In 729 A.C. the Emperor Shomu served tea to a hundred Buddhist monks in his palace. • The first seeds were introduced in Japan by a monk who was studying in China. • Tea consumption in Japan developed into a ceremony called Cha - no - yu.
THE TEA ARRIVES TO EUROPE • It believed that it is the Portuguese and the Dutch who introduced tea to Europe. • In Holland the popularity of tea grew among all social classes and Dutch companies exported tea to other countries.
