  2. What’s New • Removal of graduates from Vantage (2012 and 2013) • KDE/ACT upload/update of student accounts • Inactivate duplicate student accounts • Bulk Student Roster Upload Function • Preparation for year three (2013-14) • State Course Codes • Online Stress Test

Duplicate Student Accounts • KDE and ACT are working collaboratively to purge the system of duplicate accounts. • The target is to have this work done this fall. • After this effort, school staff should review school lists to verify quality of work. Please review BAC e-mails for additional information.

  4. Removal of Graduates from Vantage • New Policy: Graduates will be removed from the Vantage system by ACT in December following graduation dates. • Allows school staff time to print Individual Student Reports. • ACT and KDE will work together to determine when this effort will be complete. Please review the BAC e-mails for additional information about this effort.

  5. Online Stress Test The purpose of this assessment is to provide Kentucky educators assurance the online system will work with a large number of students in the system at once. ACT must prove the system has been fixed; if it cannot, the state will likely look for a different testing vendor for the 2014-15 school year. District Assessment Coordinators (DACs) will be contacted as more details are developed.

Testing Sessions • Paper Testing: • ALL students must be tested at the same time, in the same content area. • Computer Testing: • Multiple testing sessions can be utilized in a single day. • The first computer based test must begin at the same time as the paper based test. • Note: A 10-15 minute break is allowed between test sessions.

  8. EOC PROFICIENCY SCORES • A performance level score (N, A, P or D) will be assigned for accountability purposes. • The scale will not be connected to the grade letter scale.

  9. When students are tested • Policy Change: Students are tested at the completion of ALL coursework. • No longer calculate if 55%

  19. ORDERING – Student Count Form • BACs will receive a student count form for each EOC window. • This form will be emailed to you 5 to 6 weeks prior to the EOC testing window. • If you THINK a student may test include them in your count.

  21. Preparation-User Accounts • Creation of new teacher accounts • BACs can add teachers as needed • Inactivation of teacher accounts • BACs should inactivate teachers no longer associated with their school • Addition of new ninth graders • Completed by KDE/JCPS Testing Unit

  22. Create and Upload Students • ACT will create student accounts at the appropriate school. • Student grade levels will reflect current status in IC. Accounts for students enrolled after this date will need to be created by the school. • 2012 and 2013 High School Graduates will remain in the Vantage system until December 2013.

Student Transfer Form • Use this form if a student is not visible on Quality Core. • If the student has been in any KY high school we may be able to transfer them to your location in Quality Core. • If they cannot be transferred we will contact you so that you can add them to Quality Core. • If the student is new to KY schools you should add them to Quality Core.

Bulk Student Roster Upload • New function available to add multiple student records to roster(s) via upload. • Detailed instructions will be posted to ACT’s QualityCore website prior to the start of October testing. Rosters • BACs Responsible for creating rosters : • 3 Options for naming • Name by school, course, per teacher and period • i.e. Eastern, Algebra II, Greer, period 5 • Name by school, course, per teacher • i.e. EASTERN, Algebra II, Greer • Name by school, course • i.e. CCHS, Algebra II • Note: Separate class roster for extended time for computer based (specific timing).

Rosters • BACs: • Finalize Class Rosters • Verify all students to be tested are on roster • REMOVE (during test window) students who do not test • No roster in SDRR at this time • Print or save electronic copy to use as a reference for accountability in SDRR at the end of school year(very important for Data Review)

  32. Combined MC Test Booklets • No longer separate multiple choice test booklets. Change effective spring of 2013. • Student answer document with embedded student information is located inside the test booklet. • Cover of test booklet contains embedded roster and student information. • Booklets are packed by roster for easy distribution on test day.

Changes to EOCPre-Printed Materials • Pre-printed books will now be used • Answer documents will be perforated pages within the test book • Algebra reference sheets will be perforated pages within the test book • Errors on pre-printed student information • Do not edit • Make corrections online within class roster • No pre-printed book • Add new students to the Quality Core roster • Bubble demographics into a blank book You may break the seal on a blank book prior to testing in order to bubble the demo graphics.

Changes to EOCPre-Printed Materials • If a student accidentally tears his/her answer document when removing it from the test book you will need to: • VOID the torn answer document • Record the VOIDED book on an irregularity report • Give the student a blank answer document • You received extra blanks that are not in a book within your shipment • Bubble in all student demographic and test roster data

Changes to EOCPre-Printed Materials • If you move a student from one roster to another after the materials have been printed you will NOTbe able to use the pre-printed materials. • Materials are printed with roster information included in the barcode. • Moving a student and using the pre-printed materials WILLdelay scoring. • If you need to move a student to a different roster DO NOT use the pre-printed book, instead you will need to bubble the students demographics on a blank book.

Changes to EOCPre-Printed Materials • Unused pre-printed materials • NO LONGER need to be voided • NO LONGER need to be listed on an Irregularity Report • Leave the answer document inside the pre-printed book • Remove the student from the roster • Return the unused book with nonscorable materials in your content boxes • BE SURE THAT SCORABLE ANSWER DOCUMENTS DO NOT ACCIDENTALLY GET MIXED IN WITH NONSCORABLESAS THIS WILL DELAY SCORING

  42. Irregularity report • This form can be found in your Room Supervisor’s Manual • Report any irregularities that are violations of the Administration Code(Allegations) to Erica Thompson.

Irregularities • A disturbance or distraction occurs that could affect one or more students’ scores. • A student becomes ill and discontinues testing. • A student questions or challenges a test item. • A student uses unauthorized testing aids. • Complete a Testing Irregularity Report (Test Supervisor’s and Room Supervisor’s Manuals) • VOIDEDmaterials should be listed on an irregularity report
