Needs and Requirments • Many factors must be taken into account for the design of a kite for a specific application • Such factors include: • Kite type • Altitude of kite in flight • How well the kite flies in particular wind conditions • Size of the kite • Kite’s weight • Aerodynamic properties • Durability • Stability in the wind • Getting the kite in the air
Conceptual Ideas • Kite Aerial Photography – Attaching a camera to a kite in order to take pictures of the sky. • Kite Fighting – Two people fly kites with sharps strings in order to cut the other persons string. • Kite Boarding – This is part of extreme sports, people use a kite to do tricks on a board in the water, on land or on snow. • Falcon Training – Falconers train falcons to fly higher by attaching some bait to a high flying kite.
