The Merchant and the Parson By: Hailey Wyant, Tamisha Domgaard, Katie Clarke, Lihao Chen
Details of the Merchant • Acts like he is better than everyone else • Has a beard and wears a dress and bucked boots • He is strict and is an expert at his job • No one knows his real name
Evidence of the merchant • He told of his opinions and pursuit’s, he was stately in administration • there was a merchant with a forking beard and motley dress; high on his horse he sat upon his head Flemish beaver hat and on his feet daintily buckled boots • He was expert at dabbling in exchanges, the estimable merchant so had set his wits to work • “To tell the truth I do not know his name”
Person that reminds us of the merchant • Jafar from Aladdin
The Parson • He was rich in holy thought • Good mind, was always positive • Very religious • Parish Priest, was patience • Was a very giving person even though he was poor • Stayed at home and watched his sheep
More of the Parson • He was clean, but unreasonable stubborn • Good priest • Had morals and stuck to them • Bald and rides a horse
Evidence of the Parson • The holy minded man of good renown yet he was rich in holy thought and work • He was a priest, he also was a learned man, a clerk, who truly knew Christ gospel and would preach it devoutly to parishioners and teach it • Giving to poor parishioners round about both from church offerings and his property, he could in little find sufficiency
More evidence • This noble example to the sheep he gave that first he wrought and afterwards he taught • The true example that a priest should give is one of cleanness
Person that reminds us of the Parson • Fryer tuck from Robin Hood
