  3. NHSCB- Summary • Health & Social Care bill received Royal AssentMarch 2012 • Nine National Directors in place • Four Regional Directors have been appointed • Recruitment process is to continue over the summer in collaboration with ‘sender’ organisations

Mission • To shape our health service to be open, responsive and transparent and give patients, carers, public, and those who serve them, the information and support they need to make the best decisions and choices they can; • Put the NHS Constitution at the heart of all NHS and patient decision making; • Transform patient experience with information and technology.

  9. Intelligence for Commissioners CCG Intelligence Requirements

CCG Intelligence Requirements – progress to date • Following wide spread engagement the intelligence requirements of the CCGs have been identified and depicted in the Commissioning Intelligence Model (CIM) and supporting report (January 2012) • Since the release of the CIM work has been on-going with partner organisations (Public Health/Local Authority Core Offer, the IC, DHID etc) to identify a delivery model for supporting CCGs in accessing tools, services and data.

NHS CB Intelligence Requirements – Intelligence tool • Ongoingengagement with business in relation to intelligence requirements and executive dashboard. • Outline executive dashboard being presented at Future Designs Group (FDG) in June, and Board in July. • Project delivery and governance mechanisms being set up in May to ensure delivery of fit for purpose tool by Feb 2013.

  14. The Role of NHSCB in Commissioning from the IC

Developing a partnership • The CBA is leading in the development of a partnership to commission services from the IC • It may well buy services from other intermediaries as well • Organisations who have been invited include: Care Quality Commission (CQC) Department of Health (DH) Monitor Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) Public Health England (PHE)

Progress • Senior level discussion and agreement – • To proceed with the development of the partnership • To simplify and better manage the funding of the IC • Working with the IC – • To develop a common process to manage new/changed information requests • To properly identify the cost of services
