Types of Volcanoes • Shield volcanoes form when some lava spreads around the vent in a quiet eruption • Cinder cones form by violently erupting volcanoes that shoot cinders out of the top • Composite volcanoes forms when cinders make up layers and lava flow makes the layers
Parts of a Volcano • The vent is the opening on a volcano • The middle of the volcano is called the main vent • The part where the lava is formed is called the magma chamber
Places where Volcanoes can be • Hawaii, Japan, but not many are in the United States
