What do we know? • Freight is growing • 1% faster than GDP • A predicted doubling every 15 years or so • Growth is uneven • Urban growth is strong • Some regional growth is strong
Who and what is generating the freight? • Domestic consumption • Including strong import growth • Exports • Anything else?
Economic development • What is the economic development projection for the SEATS area? • What are the freight implications?
Does SEATS have a freight strategy? • Where are the freight generators? • How much is through traffic • What comes out of the hinterland? • What is the expected growth? • Is freight on rail important?
