  2. Indiana State Library • Updates: • Statewide Resource Sharing is increasing dramatically with nearly all the gains coming from patron initiated mechanisms, particularly Evergreen Indiana. • Costs have been falling for the State (government) as ISL has created more efficient systems. I*Ask vs. SHARE; delivery service, etc. • Delivery Service Contract RFP has released and bids are due next week.

  3. Statewide Resource Sharing Trends(using delivery system data)

  4. Indiana State Library • Threats: • Delivery Costs. ISL is concerned that Indiana could see a significant cost increase in the new statewide delivery service contract. • Funding will remain an issue for the next two years based upon expected State Budget expectations. • School Librarians (K-12) continue to be undervalued and in steep decline.

  5. Indiana State Library • Breaking News: • ISL is continuing to review the deployment of its resources, and how these relate to the numerous state supported ILL mechanisms; (SHARE, Evergreen, and statewide OCLC First Search). • ISL is looking at investing in broadband expansion in the public library sector; particularly mid-sized rural libraries lacking adequate broadband capacity. • New Professional Development Committee
