KA-31 Netting Modification • Incorporated into the design are 5 cargo nets over the openings of the 5 open shelving units • The original design had the nets 67” high X 25” wide • The nets were stretched across the openings by 6 Carabineers clipped to 6 associated D-rings
KA-31 Netting Modification • However, it was noticed upon prototype evaluation that the nets were made too narrow, creating large gaps at the top and bottom, which could cause equipment to fall out of the shelves
KA-31 Netting Modification • The prototype KA-31 netting was evaluated at MALS-14 • The KA-31 shelving was loaded with the associated RT-CASS TPS Equipment
KA-31 Netting Modification The Remedy • The nets have been redesigned to 67” high X 31” wide • 4 additional D-Rings and Carabineers were added • The top and bottom Carabineers are moved outboard
