The Panda Who Saved the Rainforest Randall Handley Jasmine DeJesus Trevor Hillerman Megan Effrig
One precipitating day in the forest, Panda bears were relaxing and eating their bamboo. It was raining so hard it caused the water to run-off. Out of no where, three big lightning bolts came down from the Nitrogen cycle and started annihilating the forest. The Panda Bears were screaming and running for their lives. This destruction was ruining all the trees transpiration process into the atmosphere. The three lightning bolts known as the Nitro Lightning laughed at the squirming pandas running for their measly lives.
Two days after the Nitro Lightning came, Master Pandu decided to open his dojo to any panda bear willing to risk their lives to save their forest. His dojo is the only one in the rainforest and is the safest place to be from any rebel. His dojo was hidden under the earth, where you could see ground water through his windows. It was 250,000 sq. ft. big and extended over one fourth of the entire rain forest.
Master Pandu watched each willingly panda to come into his dojo because he would not want to risk any nitrogen freaks entering. He decided to quiz each panda to come forth to see if they truly were a panda and not someone under cover. His quiz was: what is evaporation?. Only pandas knew of this answer since they are native to the known secret.
Each panda was taught to fight like a master. Hours after hours of continuous training, they would rest and wake up four hours later to train once more. This lasted for two weeks as the Nitro Lightning still took control of the forest. Once those two weeks were up, it was time for battle.
Master Pandu fought the first of the three Nitro Lightning. It was a long battle. It took twenty-three hours to finally capture the first one. And there were still two more. Each battle was long and relentless. The master fought like a true warrior and during his third battle, came an end to his precious life. To his luck, Master Pandu struck the Lightning Bolt with his palm and made him fall unconscious. The other fighters came up and took the final lightning bolt into its jail cell.
The beautiful forest became a known disaster zone and pandas worked effortlessly to clean up and remake to once more loved fields of the rainforest. In the spot where the final lightning bolt was captured, became Master Pandu’s burial site and became the most exquisite feature to ever be built. The grave it self has condensation. His dojo remains a secret to the soldiers that fought and is to never be used again. It is said in stories that he will make u suffer a thousand deaths.
In the meantime, the leader panda bears were having a meeting to discuss what they shall do with the enemy locked up in bars. Every suggestion they came up with wasn’t good enough. Until, they all thought of the best possible idea. They will make a rivalry planet suffer the terror of the Nitro Lightning. This planet is called, Carbon World. The pandas will send the lightning to carbon world with special programmed rockets that are made to land on target world.
Parties were being thrown all over the forest to celebrate the leaving date of the Nitro Lighting. Giant food parties with piñatas shaped as lightning being smashed all over. At midnight, the enemies will be sent directly to Carbon world as every panda will be watching. In anticipation of the leave, pandas bought binoculars to see every minute of the launch into the air, as of course till they become to small to see.
It is eleven fifty-nine at night. Every restless second till the clock turns midnight. Then, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG, BONG! Twelve time the clock made noise to signal it was midnight. The rockets are staring to light, pandas are screaming with joy. Finally, the rockets shoot up into the sky and head towards the hated Carbon World. The forest is forever safe from the Nitro Lightning.
Exactly 45 minutes after launch, the rockets successfully make it to Carbon World, where they can now reek havoc onto the forest’s rival. It is said that during the firework show, Master Pandu came up into a shape of a firework to congratulate his fellow pandas. No one knows if it really happened. Some believe it did, others think that pandas who claim they saw it are crazy. All we know is that the pandas are forever safe and eternally at peace.
