PIFMA Future: Services • Sponsorship of regular regional training for entry and mid-level PFM staff • Primarily distance learning • But, some off-site • Developing/maintaining Model FMIS Performance Standards / Specifications • Cooperative Development / Maintenance of PFM Specialized Modules on an MS Office Suite Base • Web site

PIFMA Future: Services- Training • Sponsorship of regular regional training for entry and mid-level MOF staff in the following topics through a partnership involving USP, PFTAC, AusAid/Finance/ANU, and other donors • Good Practice Manuals (ex: FMIS issues, Budget Analyst Handbook, Periodic Financial Reporting, etc) on PIFMA website • Primarily Distance Learning • But Some Intense Out-of-Country Workshops

PIFMA Future: FMIS Standards • Drawing on earlier PFTAC work, develop & maintain Model Government FMIS • Performance Standards • System Specifications for Use in Acquisition RFPs • PFTAC would contract for initial development which would be informed by panel of PIFMA members • Product available on a PIFMA Website • Website maintained by PFTAC, content determined by PIFMA members at annual meeting

PIFMA Future: Services – PFM Specialized Modules • Cooperative Development / Maintenance of PFM Specialized Modules on an MS Office Suite Base, particularly for • Preparation of Budget documents • Periodic financial reports • Basic asset management • Aid management • ??Simple “Treasury” systems for local governments?? • etc • Note: Would draw on information from existing budget execution systems • PFTAC would coordinate initial development using country staff as much as possible

  7. PIFMA Future: Virtual “Secretariat” • PIFMA Website • Best practice manuals • Training materials • Model Government FMIS specifications • Special Purpose Government FMIS Modules • Rotating specialist content coordinators chosen from country staff
