  2. OBJECTIVE • Generate interest in historic downtown Bridgeport. • Increase sales at local businesses. • Draw visitors to Bridgeport. • Create interest in cultural arts. • Offer professional creative instruction to the public.

  3. STARTING POINT • Currently there exists an informal group of Bridgeport Artists, who meet monthly to support and encourage one another. Most of these 7 Artisans are professionals who have an established client base and desire to broaden their creative horizons. • These Artists need a place to converge expertise, share it with others desiring to learn their craft, display their art pieces, and increase their sales. • This Artisan Group is currently working to establish collaborative organization (profit or non-profit status).

IDEAS FOR USE /Profit • Remove metal shell, leaving south portion of building open for patio space. • Offer classes and demonstrations during the day. • Gallery open 3+ days per week, with artists sharing shifts and studio space. • Formal gallery shows with live music & refreshments on patio. • Rent out space for events.

ARTIST #1 RENDERINGS of Building • Patio space offers additional classroom during mild temps. • Middle window on long south wall is structurally sound enough to install double door, providing access to patio (local construction professional). • Gallery will collaborate with other merchants for special events and plays at Bridgeport Stage. • Tasteful decorative lighting and live music on patio (that correlates to particular type of art show) will attract interest in evenings and on weekends. • Attractive rental space for small events.
