  2. The game in pre-alpha • So I’m interested in using my newfound Adobe skills to add an extra layer of polish to the video game I’m working on… http://ec2-107-21-74-47.compute-1.amazonaws.com/Map_show/Map/7/startX/7/startY/7

  3. Where it started

  4. Inspirations • The game atmosphere itself is inspired in large part by the work of Will Wright (creator of SimCity, the Sims and [my favorite] Spore). • The pixel art is informed by studying the great Nobutero Yuki, whose work on Seiken Densetsu 3 is some of the best pixel art ever: • Finally, there is the work of Pasqual Ferry, artist of the Ender’s Game comic books. The mind game from Ender’s Game is our primary inspiration.

  5. Goals • Three things: I want to use Photoshop to… • Create a sky overhead on the game map, which shifts in real-time from sun-up to sundown. Using pretty gradients and drawing little moons and stuff. • I want to make certain objects (especially animated ones) glow, using Photoshop’s layer effects. • I want to use Photoshop for lighting and shadow of certain objects, using the Drop Shadow layer feature as well as some different filters and alpha channels.

  6. Sketch #1

  7. Sketch #2 * I tried to make him glow, but I think a shadow would be better.
