  1. Final Project- AVT 180 The Alchemist

  2. Project Concept Description The project I decided to work on is the story map. One of the best books I have read and my favorite is The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho. It is the story of reflection and learning experiences that have helped me a lot. When I read the book I could picture myself in his place and scenery that the might have seen. I love to travel and a big dreamer so this book was just what I needed for inspiration and never get tired of reading it. Santiago is the main character of the book and it follows his mission to follow is dream to where ever it may take him. I will map out the story put imagery of my favorite parts of the story illustrated. • 1. One of my favorite visions is of him sleeping with his sheep in the old Church under the Sycamore tree where he gets his vision of this dream. • 2. Meeting the fortune teller that helps him to make the decision to follow his dream because it is worth the sacrifices • 3. Meeting the wise men- Melchizedek. • 4. Working for the Crystal Merchant. • 5. Traveling in the caravan through the desert. • 6. Meeting the Love of his life – Fatima. • 7.Learning from the Alchemist. • 8. Getting to the Pyramids. • 9. Finding the treasure. I also want to add my favorite quotes to each image, what I learned and what I thought was most insightful from the story. The story beings in Spain and then he goes to North Africa to the Pyramids. I will use maps to help illustrate his journey and images that I will work with to help visualize his experiences. I really enjoyed working with Photoshop and Illustrator so I will work with both for this project. I am very exited to work on this assignment.
