SUMMER B 2013 IN SANTANDER, SPAINJune 27thth to August 9th • Emergency support from on-site staff who will be on-call for the duration of the program, including support for participants who must visit the hospital or doctor; on-site staff will help schedule appointments, accompany the student on the visit, and assist in any other way possible. • COURSE OFFERINGS - each 3 credits: You can pick up 6! • SPN2240: Intensive Communicat. Skills: A conversation class • UF Faculty and credit, affects GPA. • SPN 3300: Spanish Grammar & Compo 1 Spanish Faculty. • Transfer credits, Don’t affect GPA • SPN 3472: Advanced Communicative Spanish Abroad. • UFFaculty and credit, affects GPA. • Special class for double majors and field work in the area in • various disciplines (medical, business, art, education, etc.). • For this, contact the director: C Sotelo: wandy@ufl.edu • Home-stays with Spanish families • Classes in Spanish: Taught by UF faculty on-site and Spanish Faculty of UIMP • Cultural excursions to several cities • Madrid (2 nights): Guided visit to El Prado or Reina Sofia and to the Palacio Real • El Escorial (day trip): Guided visit of the Monastery at El Escorial • Toledo (1 night) • San Sebastian: Beach day, and Bilbao Guided visit to the Guggenheim (day trip) • Potes and Picos de Europa (daytrip) and… • Access to computers, Wi-fi, and working space for students at the language laboratory
Program Fee:Undergraduate program: $5,998.00 • Tuition is the same for in-state and out-of-state students, which means it is cheaper for out-of-state students to study in Santander than to take classes on campus this summer. • It includes: • Tuition • Room and board (three meals a day) • Medical health insurance • UF International Center administration fee • MEDEX emergency assistance coverage • Cultural and overnight excursions • Daily tutoring provided by ISA/ ISA on-site Resident Director
