  4. Imperative Sentence • Gives a command • Makes a request • Most imperative sentences end with a period • A strong command ends with an exclamation point (!) • You is always the understood subject

  5. Examples of Imperative Sentences • Stop it! • Please give me a piece of watermelon. • Sit down students.

  6. Interrogative Sentences • Asks a question • Ends with a question mark (?)

  7. Examples of Interrogative Sentences • Did you go surfing yesterday? • When does our assembly begin? • Who is responsible for this mess? • Have you eaten dinner yet?

  8. Exclamatory Sentence • Shows excitement • Expresses strong feelings • Ends with an exclamation point (!)

  9. Examples of Exclamatory Sentences • How terrifying that movie was! • Gabriella won the match! • What a kind teacher Ms. Dluhy is!
