PLANNING BENCHMARK EDUCATION: 2010 BENCHMARK  Elementary School Population (ages 7-12 years): 28,708 28,708 ÷ 40 students / classroom = 717.7 ÷ 2 shifts = 359 classrooms As per MJE Report : Projected no. of classrooms for 2010 = 179 Difference: 180 classrooms High School Population (ages 13-16 years): 16,874 16,874 ÷ 40 students / classroom = 421.85 ÷ 2 shifts = 211 classrooms As per MJE Report : Projected no. of classrooms for 2010 = 116 Difference: 95 classrooms College Population (ages 17-22 years): 16,222 – assumed to be absorbed by schools in Metro Manila

EDUCATION: 2010 BENCHMARK Current Land Requirements for School: Computing for School Building Space Requirement: 359+211 = 570 x 90 sq.m. per classroom = 51,300 sq.m. + 30% ancillary space = 66,690 sq.m. Computing for School Campus Land Requirement: 66,690 sq.m. x 2 = 133,380 sq.m. or 13.34 hectares for Elem. & HS

PLANNING BENCHMARK EDUCATION: Projection for 2015 (5 years hence)  Elementary School Population (ages 7-12 years): 35,522 35,522 ÷ 40 students / classroom = 888 ÷ 2 shifts = 444 classrooms Additional Classrooms Needed: 444-359 = 85 High School Population (ages 13-16 years): 19,138 19,138 ÷ 40 students / classroom = 478 ÷ 2 shifts = 239 classrooms Additional Classrooms Needed: 239-211 = 28 College Population (ages 17-22 years): 25,311 – assumed to be absorbed by schools in Metro Manila (The Plan is to encourage prestigious universities to locate a branch in San Mateo.)

Computing for School Campus Land Requirement: 13,221 sq.m. x 2 = 26,442 sq.m. or 2.64 hectares additional for Elem. & HS

HOUSING: 2010 BENCHMARK Total population: 211,138 ÷ 5 (average family size per household) = 42,228 households As per MJE Report : Projected no. of households for 2010 = 31,794 Difference: 10,434 households Plus emerging households (female ages 25-39) = 25,377 households Total Difference: 35,811 households Current Land Requirement for Housing: 42,228 + 25,377 = 67,605 x 250 sq.m. (area of housing unit)= 16,901,250 sq.m. or 1,690 hectares

(area of housing unit)= 3,356,750 sq.m. or 335.67 hectares
