THE BIBLE The more I learn about Neo (good) the more I'm tempted to be like Agent Smith (evil).
Romans 7:5 At one time I lived without understanding the law. But when I learned the command not to covet, for instance, the power of sin came to life. The law aroused these evil desires that produced a harvest of sinful deeds, resulting in death. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, “You must not covet.”
Red Cravings Cause Suffering Produce Need for Shame
DUHKHA Buddha's teachings on suffering Suffering is the central fact of life. Being born is pain, growing old is pain, sickness is pain, death is pain. Union with what we dislike is pain. Separation from what we like is pain, not obtaining what we desire is pain.
Duhkha:The cause of suffering is the desire (iccha), craving (tanha) or thirst (tishna) for sensual pleasures, for existence and experience, for worldly possessions and power. This craving binds one to the wheel of rebirth. Suffering can be brought to an end only by the complete cessation of desires, the detaching of oneself from desire and craving.
NEED FOR SHAME “If the people are governed by laws and punishment to maintain order, they will try to avoid the punishment but have no sense of shame. If they are governed by virtue and rules of propriety are used to maintain order, they will have a sense of shame and will become good as well.” ~ Confucius
NEED FOR SHAME To be fond of learning is near to wisdom; to practice with vigor is near to benevolence; and to be conscious of shame is near to fortitude. ~ Confucius

Shame: An emotion caused by a sense of disgrace and requiring one to try harder to be acceptable. Guilt: Feeling sorrow and taking responsibility for a specific wrong doing, then seeking forgiveness and making restitution.
Shame vs. Guilt Cultures • The ship “Cole” was attacked because it “defiled” the holy land. Americans say, “But we did not do anything wrong.” • A raped daughter may be killed to cleanse the family’s shame. We say, “She is innocent.” • 3. A woman who commits adultery will wash her hair to remove the defilement. She will not confess her guilt and seek forgiveness. • 4. Muslims extremists will stand by Kadafi and Saddam even though they are “guilty” of many crimes.
Jesus' Glasses Red and Blue were created for good. We are intended to be pleasing to God, but we are guilty of using our freedom to do wrong. Jesus provided a solution to guilt and shame.
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame."
