  4. Vocabulary • Mitosis = division of the cell nucleus and its contents • Cytokinesis = the division of cell cytoplasm into two identical daughter cells • Chromatin = the combination of DNA and histone proteins • Diploid = Two copies of each chromosome, one paternal, one maternal
