Class Rules Come to class prepared and on time Pen (blue or black ink) or pencil • Follow class procedures Arrive on time Collect any handouts Turn in any assignments • Speak, act and dress in a professional manner • Sit in assigned seat • Participate in class activities • Check area and leave class when dismissed by teacher
GRADING POLICY • Each student’s marking period grade will be calculated using the following weights: • 60% Major Assessments (Tests, Projects, Preschool Lessons) • 40% Minor Assessments (Class work, Quizzes, Homework) • Most grades will be posted to Powerschool within 3 to 5 days. • Assignments/Projects MUST be turned in on date due 1 day late = -30 points 2 days late = -50 points 3 days late = grade of 0
Materials needed for class • Writing utensil - Pen(blue/black ink) or pencil • Expectations • Be on time. • Be prepared. • Be respectful. • Absent work – I will keep track of what was missed; Students are responsible to ask me for it.

Greyhound Puppies Preschool • 2nd, 3rd and 4thMP • Wednesday and Thursday beginning November 28th • Child Development students are responsible for planning and teaching age appropriate lessons to the preschoolers two times each marking period. Students must plan SIX of the following types of lessons throughout the course of the year: Food/Nutrition, Story, Art/Craft, Science, Math, Game/Outside Activity, Music, Health/Wellness
About Mrs. Duff • Graduated from the University of Delaware • This is my 16th year at Northern • I currently teach Child Development I and II, but have also taught Foods and Nutrition as well. • I am married with 3 daughters (10, 11 and 13) and 1 puppy! • I coach field hockey and basketball teams that my daughters play on. • I love spending time with family, traveling, car trips, the beach and cooking.
