Angels -- Their Nature • They are spirits (Hebrews 1:13-14; Luke 24:39) • They have the ability to take on many forms (Hebrews1:7; Genesis 9:1, 5; 32:24-32; Hosea 12:3-4) • They can be invisible or unrecognizable (Numbers 22:22-34; Judges 6:11-22; 13:3-21; 2 Cor. 11:14)
Angels -- Their Nature • They are higher than men (2 Peter 2:11; Psalm 8:5; Hebrews 1:5; 2:9; Col. 2:18) • They have free will and are capable of sinning (2 Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6; Ps.103:20) • They are individuals with various ranks and strengths (Jude 9; Daniel 10:13; Rev. 5:2; Isaiah 6:lff; Ezekiel10:20-21)
Angels -- Their Work In Bible Times • They revealed God's Will (Acts 7:38, 53; 8:26; Gal. 3:19; Hebrews 2:2; Genesis 16:7-13; Exodus 3:2; Luke 1:13-19, 26-27) • They punished the disobedient (Genesis 19:1, 13; 2 Samuel 24:16; 2 Kings 19:35; Ps. 78:49; 35:4-6; Acts 12:23) • They protected and comforted God's servants (Psalm 34:7; Daniel 3:28; 6:22; Matthew 4:11; Luke 22:43)
Angels in the Present & Future • They serve the saved (Hebrews 1:13-14) • They do not continue to reveal God's will. (2 Timothy 3:13-17; Jude 3; Galatians 1:8) • Our angels behold God’s face (Matt. 18:10) • Angels have an interest in our salvation (1 Peter 1:12; 1 Corinthians 4:9; Luke 15:10; 16:22; 12:8-9) • Angels will come with the Lord on the last day (Matt. 13:40-43; 16:27; 2 Thess. 1:7-8)
