Noteworthy Arrests Cocaine Trafficking – Interdiction arrest: • a subject was stopped for using their cell phone while driving • interdiction led to the discovery of over a kilogram of cocaine and a substantial amount of cash. • the AC was arrested: 6 criminal charges plus a summons for distracted driving. • Chronic Suspended Driver, On-going Target: • chronic suspended driver referred to STAT • since referred, STAT has arrested this subject 6 times • the subject will remain an on-going target

Noteworthy Arrests Recovery of Stolen Property: • a subject referred to STAT was suspected of driving while suspended • we linked him to the theft of heavy equipment in and around Edmonton • the post arrest interview led to the recovery of over $140 000 worth of stolen property. • Civil Forfeiture of Road Rage Target’s vehicle: • a STAT target was involved in 9 road rage incidents • he was arrested and his vehicle was seized for civil forfeiture under the Victims Restitution and Compensation Payment Act. • This is the first case in Canada in which a road rage subject’s vehicle has been seized.
