Plot Structure Components Climax: The turning point. The most intense moment (either mentally or in action. Rising Action: the series of conflicts and crisis in the story that lead to the climax. Falling Action: all of the action which follows the Climax. Exposition: The start of the story. The way things are before the action starts. This includes the setting! Resolution: The conclusion, the tying together of all of the threads.
Conflicts • Man vs Man (external conflict) Example : You and your mom are in conflict • Man vsHimself (internal conflict) Example : You see a peer cheating on a test and you have to make a choice whether to tell the teacher or not.
Conflicts • Man vsSociety (external conflict) Example: Society says it's not right if you steal so, you must not steal, but some people steal every day even though it is not what Society believes. • Man vsNature (external conflict) Example: Man is trying to drive during a blizzard.
