The Conflict Parties Involved • General Manager (Was only titled Assistant GM during the 2012 season.) • Director of Media Relations Both employees were in their 1st season with the team. Office Conflict Example
The Tipping Point • Season long conflict. • Team gathering at Buffalo Wild Wings. • GM goes to sit down and Dir. Of Media relations pulls out chair from underneath him.
Relationship & Process Conflict • Relationship: Interpersonal Relationship issues The 2 parties had clashing personalities GM: Loud, Didn’t earn respect, Didn’t set good examples Dir. Of Media Relations: Quiet, Awkward, Held in feelings • Process: Problems with how the work gets done Asking others to do certain things you aren’t willing to do yourself Showing up late Refusing to perform tasks requested by the boss
