Why in the World Are You?Genesis 1:26-28 Image Bearers • God chose to create us in His own image • What does it mean to be an image bearer? • We possess the personality of God – knowledge, feelings (including spiritual), and a will • We have a sense of morality that includes freedom and responsibility • We are all spiritual beings who are built to worship and commune with our creator

Genesis 2:18 (NASB) 18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”

Romans 12:1-2 (NASB) 1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Ephesians 3:8-10 (NASB) 8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, 9and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things; 10so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 3:8-10 • You are a trophy of His grace! • There is no other explanation of who I am and how I live except the sovereign and supernatural work of God • Summarized – a life lived for God’s glory is a truly extraordinary life! Matt. 5:16; Eph. 2:10
Matthew 5:16 (NASB) 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Ephesians 2:10 (NASB) 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
