RPEF Funds Dedicated Spaces at PGS • The Teacher Resource Room • Designed for developing classroom teaching materials • Shelves, tables, laminating, copy machines & lots of supplies • Restocked yearly • The Science Room • New tables and chairs • Science tools, materials and kits • Restocked yearly
RPEF Funds Dedicated Spaces • The Lit Room • Funded by a grant from Lowes • Installed shelves and purchased books sets for this room • Classrooms can find – historical fiction, poetry, bios, etc. • Books continue to be purchased as needed
More Dedicated Spaces at PGS • The AP Room • New black stage curtains replaced the tattered originals • The Art Room • Major facelift – materials cleaned & organized • A new multi-colored paint job • Three faucets installed so student cleanup is a whole lot quicker • New Tools: Digital projector, Digital camera, Digital video recorder, Large drying rack , Mobile cart, Large whiteboard – it’s first!

All-School Programs • WeatherBug • The WeatherBug Tracking Station is installed on the PGS roof • Records 27 different real-time weather measurements • Live weather data is fed into an online educational program in every classroom • Introduces hundreds of learning possibilities with visual footage of weather systems, cloud formations, sun and moon positions, and more. • Wake Up and Move • Open to all students before-school • Exercise, Yoga, Karate, Running & Playing Games • PGS ARTS! • Growing the Visual and Performing Arts - music, art & drama • Developing a truly great series of programs, improved spaces, new tools & supplies.
Scientific Circus • Two In-School Assemblies • An Evening with the… Amazing-Activity-Zone-Traveling-Interactive-Exhibit • Children spin plates, juggle scarves, throw boomerangs, balance feathers • Learning the life-science concepts that make all this possible: Balance, Center of Gravity, Flight, Centripetal Force, Aerodynamics, Light, Sound Waves, and more!

Art Programs for Grades 1 - 6 • Image Making - Grades 1 & 2 • Develop poems & stories based on the images they create using different paint techniques • Images of Rowley - Grade 3 • Illustrate their research of the history of Rowley • Wall That Teach - Grade 4 • Paint their own creations on canvas • All are hung throughout the PGS Link Art Gallery • Animation & Claymation - Grade 5 & 6 • Animation leads to Claymation • Photography - Grade 5 & 6 • Black & white to illustrate their poems then self-portraits
Technology - Tools for Learning All Grades - Physical Education – Music - Art • Digital Projectors in all 2nd – 6th Grade classrooms and in Music & in Art • Systems tie into the teacher’s computer enabling access to software programs, Internet resources, presentations, etc. • All students participate simultaneously with group problem solving, discussions and information sharing • Listening Centers in Kindergarten & 1st Grade • SmartBoards - Laptops & Wireless – • Introduced to enhance the learning occurring in our classrooms
