  3. What will we do? • Work in a team • Rotate roles: • Camera-person • Anchors • Editor • Use creativity and teamwork to make an innovative, interesting, relevant show

  4. Who’s a good candidate? If you are… • Responsible • Self-motivated • Good communicator • Creative • Independent worker & team player • ENJOYS journalism, production, video editing • Looking at majors in broadcast? In English? In History? Journalism? Marketing? Business? Must abide be all school rules; be dependable, responsible, and committed to the importance of getting news out to the school population

What do I need to do? • 2 Teacher recommendations- Print from Ms. V website • Personal 1 page essay – “Why I want to be a part of the Morning Announcements Team” highlighting strengths and how you’ll help the team • Shoot & edit an individual, (no more than) 3-minute video clip of a news report using a variety of headline news stories: • Showcase the following skills: • Communication • Creativity & innovation • Voice inflection & intonation • Video editing skills ALL MATERIALS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY APRIL 21, 2014 LATE ENTRIES NOT ACCEPTED

What do I need to do? • Ask teachers to leave recommendations in my mailbox – or by email (must have 2) • Email your essay jvasiliadis@ucvts.tec.nj.us • Video options – link to You Tube or drop off video on flash drive (in person, or mailbox) • All items must be submitted by April 21, 2014 GOOD LUCK!
