Review of Key Changes • The grading policy and regulations shifted the district from numerical grades to letter grades, in line with many surrounding districts, colleges, and universities • City Schools is committed to supporting and rewarding students who pursue more challenging coursework. • As a result, the weight for Honors classes have increased from 1.06 to 1.10, and the weight for AP/IB classes from 1.12 to 1.20. • City Schools has added an A+ to the grading scale in order to reward student work that reflects a high standard of achievement. • An A+ will receive a 4.33 grade points

Implications for GPA • The shift in the grading scale would have direct implications for how GPA would be calculated. • The slight adjustment to the grading scale would minimize the impact while still holding students to a high grading standard.
