Summary • The 2001 Wharton Technology & Media Conference is the premier event of the year for MBAs, recruiters, and industry leaders to network and discuss hot topics in the business of technology, media and convergence • This year’s conference will be held on February 15-17, 2001 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Downtown Philadelphia

  4. Conference Overview Building on the established Wharton Technology conference, the 2001 event is now a combined effort of the Technology and Media & Entertainment Clubs. It is organized and run entirely by Wharton MBA students. • More than 1,200 participants (students, alumni, and corporate attendees) are expected at the 2001 conference. • In 2000, over 1,000 people, including more than 800 Wharton MBA students, faculty and alumni, attended • More than 50 companies, including some of the most prestigious technology, consulting, investment banking, and venture capital firms, sent representatives to the 2000 conference • Over 1,000 students from Wharton, the University of Pennsylvania, and neighboring schools met with 60 companies at the EJ2K Career Fair

Conference Theme and Speakers • Theme of the 2001 conference is “Managing in a Converging World” • Conference will feature a number of prominent keynote speakers • The 2000 keynote speakers were Jay Walker, Founder and Vice Chairman of Priceline.com, Guy Kawasaki, CEO and Founder of Garage.com, Brian Roberts, President of Comcast Corporation, and Steve Burke, President of Comcast Cable Communications • Presentation of recipient of third annual Wharton Technology Distinguished Alumnus Award • The inaugural recipient of this award in 1999 was David Pottruck, President and Co-CEO of Charles Schwab & Co. • The recipient of this award in 2000 was Michael Moritz, Partner at Sequoia Capital

Conference Content • Conference will be held from Thursday, February 15 to Friday, February 16, 2001 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center • Technology and entrepreneurial job fair will follow on Saturday, February 17 • 10 panels focusing on a variety of hot issues including • Content: Infrastructure and Applications • Wireless Technologies and Services • “Old vs New Media” • Digital rights • Optical Networking • The future of interactivity • Program includes interactive lunch, breakout sessions, and two evening cocktail receptions

The Wharton Technology Club The mission of the Wharton Technology Club is to provide the fast-growing segment of MBA students interested in technology-related careers with exceptional networking and recruiting opportunities, and serve as an integral educational forum from which MBA students can learn about the latest developments in technology. • The Technology Club is one of the largest clubs at Wharton, with more than 400 active members in 1999-2000 • In addition to the annual Technology Conference, the Club sponsors a full calendar of events throughout the school year, including career panels, networking events, company visits, and speaker series with key business and technology leaders

The Wharton Media & Entertainment Club The mission of the Wharton Media & Entertainment Club is to provide MBA students interested in careers in the fields of media and entertainment with extensive networking and recruiting opportunities as well as with insight into the latest developments in these industry areas. • In addition to the annual Technology & Media Conference, the club is one of the most active and visible at Wharton • Sponsorship of events throughout the year including industry speaker series presentations, career panels, and networking engagements
