“GLOBAL ENERGY PRODUCTIVITY FOR ALL” Mark Hopkins Director of Intentional Energy Efficiency UN Foundation
Big Challenge, EvenBigger Opportunity AGEEC recommends the UN achieve a 40% reduction in global energy intensity by 2030. • We need to double the annual rate of global energy efficiency deployment to achieve a 40% reduction. • There are many effective policy measures that can adapted to fit the market situation in countries. • Increasingly, countries want to tap their energy efficiency potential to mitigate pressing energy problems - cost, security, and environment. • We can leverage and accelerate this trend by creating a global best practice initiative to provide policymakers with the tools they need to achieve greater energy productivity.
