General Directions: • Each student in the class will have a topic related to one of the first four time periods in the APWH course. • This is related to Units 1-4. • Unit 5 will be covered by the class as whole, but should be fresh in your mind because we just finished this unit. • You, individually, will be leading a class discussion on the topic you have randomly selected. • You will be allowed to trade topics after everyone has selected. • When the class is not covering your topic, you will earn points for engaging in the class discussion. • You do not need to be involved in everyone’s topic, but you must be involved in several. • Involvement in ALL topics will earn you extra credit.

  3. Handout Directions: • For each topic, you must create a minimum 1-page handout. • Single spaced, 12 font, Times New Roman. • You must provide a copy for every student in the class and Mr. Nelson. • 3rd period has 26 students. • 7th period has 26 students. • These handouts will not be posted on Mr. Nelson website. • Your handout needs to include enough content in order to address the topic completely and thoroughly. • You also need to include a minimum of 5 questions that you consider to be relevant questions that might appear on the multiple choice part of the APWH Exam. • You do not need to create the choices for the questions, just the question. • Everyone must have there handouts completed and copies made by Monday, May 2nd.

  4. Class Discussion Directions: • Your job will be to read/present your handout. • You need to demonstrate complete and thorough understanding of the topic you are discussing. • Beyond the information on your handout, you need to remember that you are leading a class discussion, not just giving a presentation. • Be interactive with the class. • Unit/time period for class discussions: • Unit 1 will be covered on Monday, May 2nd. • Unit 2 will be covered on Wednesday, May 4th. • Unit 3 will be covered on Friday, May 6th. • Unit 4 will be covered on Tuesday, May 10th.

  5. Grading: • This is worth 40 project points. • 20 points for the handout. • 10 points for leading the class discussion. • 10 points for involvement in other students topics.
