  1. Homework-4B The Crazy Scientists Weeks 5 & 6 - Term 1 - 2013 spilsbury.wayne.c @edumail.vic.gov.au Spelling Don’t forget to practise your spelling words that you have written in your diary. Make sure you write your weekly words out at least twice a week in your Homework Book. Remember you get tested every Tuesday. You might also like to try the spelling activities on: www.spellingcity.com Tables I am on T.T.C. Level I need to practise my times tables. Write your times tables in your Homework Book each week. Reading Record Don’t forget to record your reading in your diary!Write the title of the book in each day, even if you just read a page, record the page number/s that you read. Then get mum or dad to sign your diary. Reminder: Record anything that you read. If you read an article in mums newspaper or dads magazine, writeit in your diary. Reading Record Spelling T.T.C T Reading Record Your task this fortnight is to find an article in the paper or a magazine that is of interest to you. Using two highlighter colours, highlight the adjectives( describing words) in one colour and the verbs (doing words) in another. Stick the article in your homework book when you have finished highlighting and write a brief summary about what the article was about. Spelling Focus on these skills while completing your homework • Organisation: • Have you set aside time to complete your homework so it is handed in on time? • Presentation: • Have you ruled a margin on each page? • Handwriting: • Have you set your work out neatly so that others can read it? • Reading practice: • Have you read and recorded your reading each day? • Spelling practice: • Have you written out your words four times? • Tables practice: • Have you written out your tables? • Persistence • Have you given each task a go? Physical Education Challenge Homework Checklist English • This term your homework will include a physical activity task that is aimed at getting you to think about the ways in which you can be active at home. • #2 Create an Obstacle Course... • I would like you to design an obstacle course in your back yard. It may include things like a balance beam, commando crawling, star jumps, skipping, hopping, sprinting etc. I want you to draw a diagram of the course you made and I want you to attempt your obstacle course at least 4 times in the fortnight. It does not have to be to difficult, just get outside and have fun! • Reminder: Don’t forget to record how it made you feel and what your favourite activity was.. • . • Good luck! Reading Record • •You need to work through the cheat sheet you have been given on place value and come up with three examples of your own on each section. • Your second task this fortnight is to use the think board attached to solve the worded problem below. You will need to find the clue words, equation, draw an array and work out the answer. • Jack and Jill were walking in the garden collecting flowers for their teachers. Jack collected 16 daisies and 18 Daffodils. Jill collected 24 Daisies and only 4 Daffodils. When they returned home they grouped the flowers together and split them evenly into two bunches. How many Daisies and Daffodils did each teacher get in their bunch of flowers? Maths- Worded Problem Your homework is due back on Friday, 8thMarch 2013
