The Life of Satan’s Son • Charles Manson was born to a prostitute November 12, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States • He was known as “No name Maddox” because Charles original last name Maddox, making him Charles Milles Maddox
Youth in Jail • Charles was caught after a string of burglaries and was sent to a juvenile detention institute in Indianapolis. • He escaped after one day and was subsequently recaptured by the authorities. Manson was then placed in Boy’s Town, an orphanage. • After Charles stayed four days in Boy’s Town, he and an accomplice escaped and held up two armored cars.
The Deceiver of Fools • After spending over half of his life in jail, Manson was set free and moved to San Francisco, California. There he began to gather numerous followers, all while touring California. • Manson became famous in San Francisco as a guru, before gathering several of his followers in a hippie-style minivan and left San Francisco. • His followers became known as his “family”.
Dennis Wilson • Dennis Wilson was a band member of the Beach Boys. He was friends with Terry Melcher, the band’s music recorder. • Wilson picked up two of Manson’s prostitutes and took them home with him. • After he came home, he met Manson’s family, who had abruptly taken residence in Wilson’s house.
Terry Melcher • Terry Melcher was a music recorder who worked for the Beach Boys, recording their music. • He met Charles Manson through Beach Boys band member, Dennis Wilson.
Forceful Removal • Melcher was interested in Manson’s music, but quickly discovered Manson’s true colors after a heavy violent fight between an intoxicated stuntman and Manson. • Terry Melcher and Wilson both tried to rid themselves of Manson, who became bitter and furious. He was forced to leave and set up his base at Spahn Ranch. • Melcher moved out of his house and sold it to Roman Polanski and his wife, Sharon Tate.
Roman Polanski • Roman Polanski is a Polish film director. • He met Sharon Tate while directing The Fearless Vampire Killers, yet Polanski didn’t like her. Late into production the two warmed up to each other and eventually became married. • After Terry Melcher moved out of his house, Polanski moved in with his expecting wife.
Sharon Tate • Sharon Tate was a young female actress who was happily married to movie director, Roman Polanski. • She was very pregnant when Melcher leased his house to Polanski and they moved in.
The Night of 1969 • On August 9, 1969, four members of Manson’s “family” broke into the house and slaughtered all of the occupants of the house, including Sharon Tate and her eight and a half month unborn child. • Roman Polanski was absent during the murders. • Manson knew that Terry Melcher had moved out of the house before he sent his assassins.
Sadie Atkins • Susan (Sadie) Atkins was one of Manson’s most infamous followers. She was one of the assassins who broke into Polanski’s house and killed everyone inside. • Sadie killed Sharon Tate, who was pleading for the life of her unborn baby. Sadie stabbed Sharon so many times that her white gown was stained entirely red.
Tex Watson • Tex Watson was a collage dropout who failed miserably in life. He met Charles Manson through drug deals and joined his “family”. • Watson was one of the murderers that aided in killing Sharon Tate and her friends. • Presently he has become a born-again Christian and is ministering.
Arrest and Trial • Manson was arrested and was held during trial. • President Nixon called Manson guilty before the trial was over, nearly ending it in mistrial. • Fortunately, a mistrial was avoided and Manson was sentenced to life in prison, • where he belongs.
