EDI SIG Overview Mission • The EDI SIG’s mission is to form a collaborative group of members and provide a forum for: • sharing information, experiences, and best practices in the implementation and effective usage of Oracle’s e-Commerce Gateway (ECG) and EDI products • gathering feedback and input from the user community on priorities for the future enhancement and direction of ECG and EDI technologies to share with Oracle Corporation • supporting education and training associated to ECG and EDI through conference participation, webinars, and publications Current State • Last event was Collaborate 2014 in April – SIG Meeting • 11 attendees – none were SIG members • 350+ members listed in OAUG database • Survey sent to member list in July • 8 responses Future State • Full and active board team • Active and growing membership • Updated website with ability for members to interact/share information • Quarterly webinars
EDI SIG Challenges with ECG • * Based off input at Collaborate and from EDI survey • Lack of training and limited documentation on features and usage available for ECG. • Lack of enhancements or new capabilities being addressed for ECG. • Limited transactions available as standard ECG functionality. • Better reporting capabilities for ECG. • Ability to set up multiple trading partners under 1 address. • Ability to drop ship product without needing to set each drop ship as a location. • Provide ASN’s to customers for drop ship orders (based on ASN received from supplier) • ECG maps not updated for R12 fields. Topics for future webinars/education sessions • * Based off input at Collaborate and from EDI survey • Future enhancements / Roadmap • R12 impacts • ECG Configuration Overview • Best practices for extending transactions or adding new custom transactions. • Multi-Org setups in ECG for transacting in different sets of books (i.e. US/Canada/Mexico) • Overview of Oracle products for EDI capabilities and guidelines on which one to use based on requirements.
