Federal Recovery Coordination Program • Joint program of the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense • Provides comprehensive coordination of care for severely injured, ill or wounded Service Member or Veteran through their recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration. • Provides support for family members and/or caregivers.

  2. Background • President’s Commission on Care for America’s Returning Wounded Warriors (Dole Shalala Report) July 2007 • Recommendation: a comprehensive patient center recovery plan for every seriously wounded Service member and Veteran

Eligibility • DoD/VA Senior Oversight Committee (SOC) established Criteria • Open to OEF/OIF Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve service member or Veteran, regardless of combat • Hospitalized in military treatment facility; Diagnosed or referred with one or more: • Spinal Cord Injury • Burns • Amputation • Traumatic Brain Injury • Visual Impairment • Post traumatic Stress Disorder • At risk for psychological complications

  8. Client and Caregiver Satisfaction Survey • Joint effort with DoD • Initiated in November 2008 • OMB Clearance received January 2009 • DMDC Clearance received April 2009 • Development of SOW • Execution of Survey begins November 2009

  9. Outreach Strategies • Increase visibility of FRCP • Branding of the program with the development of Program Brochure and Poster • Development of FRCP Logo • Attendance and Conference Presentations • Establish toll free number to increase access

FY2010 Operating Plan • Completion of the Satisfaction survey • Increase presence on Web and through social media outlets • Completion of the Family/Caregiver Manual • Utilize tools to identify and analyze data for program planning • Continue to refine program evaluation activities • Strength collaboration between PHS and VA
