  2. I think the Haitian revolution slaveswanted to become free and free blacks also wanted their rights. I read in the text the success of American Revolution encouraged Haitian to try to gain freedom from their European masters. ( Chpt. 24 , pg. 682 ) Why did they start the revolution ?

  3. I reasoned that the Haitians (enslaved & free blacks ) revolted against the French masters. I read in Doc.1 “The white population defied an order from France to enfranchise free blacks, it triggered a violent revolt that involved changing alliances among free blacks and the large slave population.” Who were the people revolting against the government ?

  4. How Did They Fight in The Revolution ? • I argue the revolution fought dirty. The Haitians chopped people’s heads off, burned building, had cruel murders, & massacres. • I saw a photo in Doc.2 of a group Haitians chopping people heads off. I also in the text (Doc.3) “numerous have been the most cruel murders and massacres,--and numberless plantations, with the buildings and crops destroyed by fire.

  5. What was the outcome of the revolution ? I reasoned that the Haitians declared their independence and also created a constitution giving equal rights to all no matter what race or color. • I read in the text on January 1, 1804 General Dessalines declared the colony an independence. ( Chpt. 24 Pg. 682 )

  6. How did other countries view the revolution? Did the revolution have legacy or affect on others ? • I think they became free , but weretreated badly . • I read in the Document 5the Americans didn’t recognize Haitian Independence, and Americans also invaded Haitian territory. This shows a sign of disrespectfulness .
