  3. Where the Wild Things Are • This book tells the story of a boy named Max who dreams up an imaginary land filled with Wild Things. Max conquers the Wild Things and becomes there king. He spend a lot of time with them but soon becomes homesick and wakes up to the real world and goes to tell his mother who does not believe him. • About the Author • Maurice Sendak grew up tough with a lot of his family dead or missing from the horrors brought on by the Holacaust. He was inspired to start writing after seeing Fantasia. He currently resides in Danbury, Connecticut.
