  2. The tiger who narrates the story of his life tells us that beneath the seven Hills he could see fields meadows and small village where human lived. His mother advised him never to leave his cave during her absence

  3. But one moonlit night he crept out of the cave and wandered in the forest he met Bhalu He mistook him for his mother and jumped upon him to show his regard for his mother

  4. Bhalu rose on his feet and gave him a blow that sent him sprawling in the bush Bhalu taught him the ways of life in the forest

  5. He told him to beware of the stranger, avoid man, the red dog and mad jackal. Man, he told the cub was the greatest enemy of the forest animal. 

  6. He killed them not only for food but also for the joy of hunting them.

  7. One day he went hunting into the forest with his mother. A Sambur came to drink watershed sensed their presence but could not see them. The mother of the cub raised her head and got ready to attack her prey.

  8. She sprang on the Sambur with a roar. They killed their prey this first kill gave the cub a thrill excitement .he roared again and again

  9. The cub mother received the wound from the antlers of the Sambur She was bleeding freely After eating the sambur's flesh the mother returned to the carcass and began to eat heartily .They all left the place before dawn She collapsed and died as they reached the entrance of the cave. A day later the cub fled the cave, overpowered with grief and fear.

  10. The tiger had grown up in size and strength and began to hunt. One summer night when he had his first kill .There the sight of tigress madden him he entered the water and tried to seize her. But she used her paw to give him a blow that made him almost senseless. Here he learnt his first lesson in courtship-never be hasty.

  11. However, being a self-respecting tiger he gave her as many blows as he received .when this courtship ended he returned with her to his mother’s cave as a married tiger.

  12. With the passage of time there was a great change in the forest .trees were cut. Hunters were everywhere marching through the forest killing the deer Tigers began to starve and went to the village where fat animals attracted his attention

  13. The tiger passed through a period of terrible of suffering .his wound swelled and festered. His body shook with high fever .he was without food and water. He thought his end was near but as he was young regained his strength when his wound healed .

  14. He went to the water hole to drink. A hare came to drink water and served him as his food.

  15. One day a goat herd to the forest .A kid came to the near the tiger’s hide out. He stuck at it.The tiger killed the boy and then fled to his cave

  16. When his mate smelled human blood on his claw she desired him. This killing of boy led to tiger’s ruin .His own tribe avoided his company. The taste of human blood created in him madness. He began to kill more human beings

  17. One night while following them he came to a village at the foot of mountain.

  18. Three men who had taken wine came on the path . He pounced upon them The first was easily killed by him .the second who raised his stick to strike at him was also killed with a blow from his uninjured paw The third fled to nearby a town after sometime many men came with sticks and lanterns to attack him but he returned to the forest.
