What is a CRIS? A collection of actionable indicators that measure the different dimensions of college readiness and allows for early identification of students who may need extra support in order to finish high school ready to succeed in college.
Micro Level: Tri-Level CRIS For each of the dimensions of College Readiness, we organize indicators into three levels: • Individual • Setting (school or classroom) • System (district or local/state government)
Reflect & Share • Did certain dimensions (AP, CK, AT) have more indicators that you imagine districts are using than others? • Which indicator levels do you think districts are least likely to be using now? • What challenges do you think districts will face in developing their CRIS’ using this framework? • What indicators have actions associated with them?
Lessons Learned • Coherence • What opportunities do current efforts by your states and districts provide for developing coherence around the college readiness agenda? • What role do cbos and higher education institutions play in your college readiness efforts? • Equity • How does your state or district approach/address issues of equity related to college readiness? • Research: indicator evaluation vs implementation
