  7. MARS • MARS exercise coming to an end for this year. • Status of past objectives and definition of new work objectives for coming year extremely useful and important for us all. • This year is particular difficult for us to make what we think is a fair/correct step allocation/distribution with the rules that are enforced on us • 1 step: Meritorious (25%) • 2 steps: Particular meritorious (~50%) • 3 steps or more: (~25%) • Additional constraints • Career path and salary band changes requires 2 or more steps • In past few years some additional steps were available (e.g. LHC finalization steps and premiums) • In general we think everybody has delivered excellent work during the last year: A great THANKS for all your efforts and your contributions to make a nice work environment. slide 7

PavolFoldes • Tragic ski accident after only 1 month with us. • Walking just outside marked slope at Les Gets • I kindly remind our young students to be careful when doing skiing, rafting, climbing, Paraglider, Diving, etc.An accident is never far away. • Please profit from the nice region and the fantastic things to see and do, BUT be careful (for yourself, family, friends, etc.) • Profit from CAF, CAS, CERN ski Club, Guides, etc. to do your favorite spare time activities with appropriate safety measures. slide 8
