  2. Beginning Screen: Click “Start Reapplication” to proceed. You will be able to track your progress on the left side bar.

  3. Do you want to participate in Room Reapplication for 2013-14 Returning Residents? 1. Intent to Return • Answer, “yes” to this question to begin the process • Answer “no” to this question to be removed from the process. You will receive only one more e-mail communication about Room Reapplication if you answer “no”. • Check the appropriate option and click continue. Steps for Reapplying to University Housing 2. Fall 2013 Preferences • Beginning on Tuesday, January 29 at 9:00 am and continuing through Wednesday, March 13 at noon • Indicate your preferences to return to University Housing at www.housing.umn.edu/reapplication. You MUST complete this step in order to be able to sign-up for a room. This does not obligate you to return, but it does keep your options open for 2013-14 University Housing. Select the meal plan you prefer for next year. • If you reapply for a residence hall room, this will be your meal plan for Fall 2013. • If you reapply for an apartment, this preference will be removed. You may then purchase a voluntary meal plan for the Fall 2013 semester. You will receive more information if this applies to you.

  4. 3. Housing Survey If you could live in any building next year, indicate which building you would select. This preference is not guaranteed, it is for survey purposes only. If you could live in any room type next year, indicate which type you would select. This preference is not guaranteed, it is for survey purposes only.

  5. 4. Criminal Background Question • Answer Yes or No and click Continue.

  6. 5. Agree to $25 Application Fee A $25 non-refundable application fee is required and will be charged to your University financial account during Spring 2013 as soon as the final room selection round is complete.

After you indicate your preferences, you are eligible to enter the Room Reapplication Rounds. • You will receive an e-mail confirmation with rounds you are eligible to participate in. • The rounds take place beginning Tuesday, February 5th at 9:00 am through Wednesday, March 13th at Noon. • Identify which rounds apply to you and mark your calendar! (They are highlighted.) • During a current round that you qualify to participate in, a button will appear at the bottom of the page allowing you to proceed.

  10. Apartment Round 1: Same Apt. Building/Same Room Tuesday 2/5 9:00 am - Wednesday, 2/6 8:00 am • During Round 1, apartment residents have the opportunity to sign up for their current apartment. ONLY available for most residents of University Village, Wilkins Hall and Yudof Hall. Apartment Round 1: Roommate Pickup Wednesday, 2/6 9:00 am - Thursday, 2/7 noon • During this time, students requested as roommates during Apartment Round 1 must log into www.housing.umn.edu/reapplication if they want to accept an invitation to be a roommate. If a requested roommate does not log in to accept an invitation prior to the end of this pickup round (noon on Thursday), the space will be released and anyone can choose the space during subsequent rounds. Apartment Round 2: Same Apt. Building/Different Room Tuesday, 2/12 9:00 am - Wednesday, 2/13 noon • During this sign-up round, apartment residents have the opportunity to sign up for a different room in their current building. ONLY available for residents of University Village, Wilkins Hall, and Yudof Hall. • During this time, students requested as roommates during this round must log into www.housing.umn.edu/reapplication if they want to accept an invitation to be a roommate. If a requested roommate does not log in to accept an invitation prior to the end of the round, the space will be released and anyone can choose the space during subsequent rounds.   Apartment Round 3: Any Apt. Building/Any Room Thursday, 2/14 9:00 am - Friday, 2/15 noon • During Round 3, any current residents can sign-up for any available room apartments in University Village, Wilkins Hall, or Yudof Hall. • During this time, students requested as roommates during this round must log into www.housing.umn.edu/reapplication if they want to accept an invitation to be a roommate. If a requested roommate does not log in to accept an invitation prior to the end of the round, the space will be released and anyone can choose the space during subsequent rounds.

Living & Learning Community Room Selection Tuesday 2/19 9:00 am - Wednesday, 2/20 noon • During the Living & Learning Community room selection round, all current residents have the opportunity to sign up for a LLC space. • To find more information about the communities, please visit www.housing.umn.edu/student/llc. • Only students with interest in a specific LLC should reserve space through the designated LLC reservation process. The Housing Office will assign a specific room in the community based on your interest in the LLC, not your interest in the building where the community is located. The following Living Learning Communities (LLC) are available for signup through the LLC Reservations signup process during this round. • Second Year Experience House (17th Avenue Residence Hall) • Huntley House for African American Males (17th Avenue Residence Hall) • American Sign Language House (ASL) (Comstock) • Lavender House (Comstock) • Students Crossing Borders House (Middlebrook) • Substance Free House (Middlebrook) The Substance Free House, Students Crossing Borders House, and the Second Year Experience House require an additional application. If you do not complete the application you will not be eligible to live in the community.

  12. Residence Hall Round 1: Same Hall/Same Room Tuesday, 2/26 9:00 am- Wednesday, 2/27 8:00 am • Most residents can sign up to return to their same residence hall room. Residence Hall Round 1: Roommate Pickup Wednesday, 2/27 9:00 am - Thursday, 2/28 noon • During this time, students requested as roommates during Residence Hall Round 1 must log into www.housing.umn.edu/reapplication if they want to accept an invitation to be a roommate. If a requested roommate does not log in to accept an invitation prior to the end of this pickup round (noon on Thursday), the space will be released and anyone can choose the space during subsequent rounds. Residence Hall Round 2: Same Hall/Different Room Tuesday, 3/5 9:00 am-Wednesday, 3/6 noon • Residents can sign up to return to their same hall but a different room. • During this time, students requested as roommates during this round must log into www.housing.umn.edu/reapplication if they want to accept an invitation to be a roommate. If a requested roommate does not log in to accept an invitation prior to the end of the round, the space will be released and anyone can choose the space during the last round. Residence Hall Round 3: Frontier/Pioneer/Territorial Residents Thursday, 3/7 9:00 am-Friday, 3/8 noon • Residents of Frontier, Pioneer, and Territorial can sign up to return to any other residence hall. • During this time, students requested as roommates during this round must log into www.housing.umn.edu/reapplication if they want to accept an invitation to be a roommate. If a requested roommate does not log in to accept an invitation prior to the end of the round, the space will be released and anyone can choose the space during the last round. Final Round 4: Any Hall/Apt. /Any Room Tuesday, 3/12 9:00 am - Thursday, 3/14 noon • During the final round, all current residents have the opportunity to sign-up for any open space in any building. • During this time, students requested as roommates during this round must log into www.housing.umn.edu/reapplication if they want to accept an invitation to be a roommate. If a requested roommate does not log in to accept an invitation prior to the end of the round, the space will be released and anyone can choose the space during the last round.

  13. Once you have selected a room assignment you must accept the assignment to complete the reapplication process.

  14. Cancellation To cancel your application, send an e-mail to housing@umn.edu with the Subject: Reapplication Cancellation. Include your student ID, name, and cancellation request for 2013-14 Room Reapplication in the e-mail body. Next Steps $200 Housing Guarantee Payment For students who have a room reservation in this system on March 15th, a Housing Guarantee Payment of $200 must be postmarked by May 15th. If a reservation is cancelled, the $200 is refundable until May 15, 2013. After that date the payment will be forfeited. Waiting list: Available beginning Wednesday 5/16 If you didn’t get what you wanted, indicate where you wish to be moved. As long as you reserved a space during room reapplication and submit a $200 payment, you will be eligible to request a change to your assignment.
