  2. The service to the society is the expression of our gratitude for the many things we get from the society. The Basis of commitment to society Albert Einstein wrote “ I am indebted to thousands living and dead for my inner and our life. As I cannot express my gratitude to all of them. I am working hard wondering what I can do for prosperity”.

  3. The call of God The Basis of commitment to society Jesus advice and life were completely for exhorting us to break open the shell of selfishness and to bear good fruits for society. Other religions also have similar thoughts Veda Vyasa, the author of Mahabharata said that the best noble and divine action is doing good to others.

  4. 70% of the people in a population of crores live without even the basic facilities in Indian Villages. The Basic problems in our society The Indian Caste system , distinguishes the four classes, Bhramins, Kshatriyas, Vysas and Shudrasaccording to their professional status keep the dalits out they are living as slaves,

  5. The Basic problems in our society • Some other crisis in the society:- • AIDS spreading randomly. • Lack of education • Child labor. • The slum living conditions

  6. The role of Orthodox church • Orthodox Church has reached out t the poverty- stricken people in Makkodia in M.P. • Kalahandi in Orissa • Shanti Gram near Delhi. • Yacharam in Andra Pradesh • Dehu road Pune • Ittarsi in MP ( Homes for the unafflicted children of lepers)

  7. The role of Orthodox church • Established training centers for mentally retarded in the dioceses of Kandanad and Pathanamthitta and also near the Seminary in Nagpur. • Karunya guidance centeres in • Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam.

  8. The role of Orthodox church • Rehabilitation centers for the children of AIDS patients in Bangalore and Homes for Orphanage and destitute children. • Educational institutions under our churches are the lights of the mission of the church.

  9. The more we help our fellow human beings the greater will be our joy. • Along with the exhortation to serve society, the lord says. • “ These thing have I spoken unto you that my joy might remain in you and that your joy might be full” • (John 15:11) Those who serve society will find joy Gandhiji summed up the message of his life, for Journalist “Renounce and Rejoice”This is an Exhortation to renounce for others and thus Rejoice

  10. Discharging official duties – • Executing your duty as a professional. • Its not just a means of earning money and getting • comforts, but a chance to serve the society. Social Service at different levels

Deliverance for Captives – • God intensely wishes to liberate those who are bound by negative powers of exploitation, discrimination, injustice, illness, depression, fear and sin. • Psalms 146:7 • Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners. • Luke 4:18,19 • Isaiah 61:1,2 Social Service at different levels

Building the Nation– • Responsibility is to have good leaders who can ensure our system rule of truth, peace and Justice. • Awareness should be made in proper and clear manner about the problems. • Vigilance towards the unity of our nation • because India is a country of Unity in diversity. The diverse nature of caste, creed , religion and languages should be preserved. Social Service at different levels

  13. We should lead our life carrying cross. • We can impart our life to the society through • the way of cross. • Cross was the reward Jesus got for loving • Humanity .
