Who Participates in Housing Selection? • Current Millikin freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors staying for a 5th year. • Anyone fitting the category above, who is seeking approved upper-class housing options: • Upper Class Traditional Living (Hessler 4 (singles), New Hall 3, New Hall 4) • Living Learning Communities (Dolson, Weck) • The Woods (Sophomores-Seniors)
What is Housing Selection? • Housing selection is the day when any current Millikin student can come to select their room and building for the 2014-2015 academic year. • This process applies to upper class spaces in Traditional Halls and LLC’s. • If you want to sign up for an apartment in The Woods, you will have the ability to do so at Housing Selection; or you can do so at your convenience.
Where & When is Housing Selection? • The Woods at Millikin on Tuesday, March 25th, 2014. • Housing Selection starts at 6pm, and will last until we have assigned all of our available housing stock to students.
Important Facts about the LLC process • Must have filled out an application in order to be considered for a LLC • Applications were available until March 7th • Notified on March 17th if accepted into a LLC • Accepted applicants are guaranteed a spot in an LLC, however are still required to attend housing selection. • Your lottery number will determine priority in room selection.

Important Facts about Housing Selection • Students will select their housing based on their lottery number. We start with number “1” on March 25th, and go in numerical order until we have finished our housing stock. • Every student receives a lottery number, however not every student will need to use theirs. If you have a high number, do not panic! Lottery Number Schedule • 1-500 6-6:30 p.m. • 501-1,000 6:30-7:00 p.m. • 1001-1500 7-7:30 p.m. • 1501+ 7:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Important Facts about Housing Selection • If you have a roommate you would like to live with, you can select your room based off the person with the lowest number. • If you do not have a roommate, you can go through the selection process, and sign up for a room with someone else.
Important Facts about Housing Selection • If you can not attend Housing Selection because of classes/obligations you can still go through the process! You need to appoint a proxy and let our office know so we can have them fill out the proxy form prior to Housing Selection. The proxy will attend in your place, and select your room for you.
Important Facts about Housing Selection • If you would like to live at the Woods Apartment Complex, you can sign a lease with the Woods at any time. • If you select a room in a residence hall, and then decide you would like to live in the Woods, you can do that! However, once you sign a lease at the Woods, you can not cancel it until the lease is up.
Important Facts about Housing Selection • If you live in a residence hall, you also need to have a meal plan. You may pick from Meal Plans A-D.
Housing Selection The time line: • Received a lottery number on March 17th via email and on our website. • Attend Housing Selection on March 25th starting at 6pm. • Sign up for a room, with or without a roommate!
