  3. Man v. society • the values and customs by which everyone else lives are being challenged. • Ex. greasers v. socs • Others?

  4. Man v. self • Internal conflict • Good judge of character • Does he give in to temptation? • Does he demand something from himself or does he settle? • Does he even bother to struggle? • Ex. Helmuth in The Boy Who Dared • Others?

  5. Does only one type happen at a time? • NO!! • Often, more than one type of conflict is happening at the same time in a book, short story, movie, t.v. show, etc.
