  5. Activities • Do-nows, discussions, formatives, mini project, summative

  6. Do-Nows • Should be used to your advantage!! • Give them 2 choices to answer

  7. Currency • USD -> RMB -> NTD conversions

  8. Mini-Project: Clothes • Middle school – dress a classmate • High school – create an outfit • Presentation on outfit • Project to be typed on a computer

  9. Market Conversation Rearranging • Different colored sheets • Label for buyer/seller • Differentiated for Ss who are reading characters/those who are still struggling (use pinyin as a scaffold) • Heterogeneous pairing • Project the conversation to read together after completion • Partners must read sentences together

  10. Final project • Pick an item to sell • Something they are interested in/like • Given limited money to spend • Who is able to get the most out of their money? Who is happy with their purchase?
