Implementation of E-Ticketing in ATSS. Background. The concept of Electronic Ticketing was developed in 1984 in USA for domestic operations. The first e-ticket was issued by United Airlines (1990) . Since 1995 e-tickets are handled by Airline Reporting Corp. ( ARC ) – US settlement system.

  2. Background • The concept of Electronic Ticketing was developed in 1984 in USA for domestic operations. • The first e-ticket was issued by United Airlines (1990). • Since 1995 e-tickets are handled by Airline Reporting Corp.(ARC) – US settlement system.

Background • The 3rd Settlement System Participants Conferencetook decision on implementation of E-Ticketing in ATSS in 27 November 2003. • 27 January 2005 the CCS Carrier Committeeendorsed the stages of development and implementation of E-Ticketing technology in ATSS for the period of 2005–2006 by Resolution 110.

  4. Background • In May 2005 IATA announcedstep-by-step transition to Electronic Ticketing in BSPs.
