The Faculty of Management Economics and Social Sciences - History: • 1901: School of Commerce founded by local merchants as the first independent, city-financed School of Commerce in Germany • 1919: the School of Commerce became the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences, when the University of Cologne was re-established by Konrad Adenauer, Mayor and later Chancellor of Germany
