System – Notification(SMTP) • Enable Notification - Select to enable SMTP (email) notifications • SMTP Server- Enter the hostname or IP address of your SMTP (email) server • SMTP Port- Enter the SMTP Port number. The usual SMTP Port setting is 25 • Sender- Enter the email address that the alert is to have come from. • Notification recipients – VI coordinator and HP support

Network – Configuration(Configuration) • Hostname- Enter the Hostname of the Appliance. • Domain Name- Enter the name of the Domain which the Appliance is attached to. • Network Interface • Default network interface - Select the default network interface from the drop-down list. • Domain Name Server Settings • DNS Servers - Enter the IP address(es) of up to three DNS Servers. Multiple DNS Servers are usually used to provide fail-over Domain Name resolution.

The Appliance has up to two ethernet ports eth0 and eth1. • Enabled - Shows whether the Ethernet port is enabled. • DHCP - Shows whether the DHCP is enabled. • IP Address - Shows the IP address of the port. • Netmask - Shows the Network mask of the port. • Connected - Shows whether the port is enabled and connected to a network. • Bond - Shows whether or not bonding, providing fault tolerance or load balancing, is enabled.

26. Network – Configuration(Hosts) • This is a list of hosts entered by the Administrator which are known to the Appliance. This list can be used to resolve hosts when DNS is not available.

27. Network – Configuration(Ports) • Web Interface(HTTP) Access Port - The port number for Web Interface Remote Management sessions. • SSH Access Port - The port number for SSH Remote Management sessions.

Network – Users • The Network - Users page contains a list of all users that have been configured on or imported to the Appliance. • To search for a specific user, enter part or all of the user name into the User Name field and click the search button. • Note: The search is case-sensitive. Additionally, the asterisk character may be used as a wildcard. However, The wildcard character cannot be used as the first character in the search term.

33. Network – Shares • Name- the name of the Share • Location- The Share’s location on the system • CIFS, NFS and FTP- The protocol(s) currently in use on the Share, CIFS is the only protocol used. • Read only, Guest and Visible - the access privileges of the Share.

Network – Authentication • Domain Name - Enter the Domian Name the CIFS service will use. • Organization Unit - Enter the name of the organization unit (OU) within the Active Directory tree in which the Appliance will appear.. • Preferred DC (Optional) – Required by VA, enter the IP address or hostname of the preferred Domain Controller. • User Name - Enter the name of a Domain user with rights to create an object in Active Directory. • Password - Enter the user's password. • Confirm Password - Re-enter the user's password. • Domain Type - The system automatically detects and displays the domain type from the connection to the Domain Controller. ADS (Win2K+) is the VA Active Directory Domain.

Storage – Online Media • Needs Scan - Media that has been added to the Appliance but has not yet been scanned. • Scanning - Media that is in the process of being scanned. • Scan Failed - Media that cannot be scanned by the Appliance. • In Wrong Library - Media that has been found to exist in the wrong library. • Spare - The number of pieces of media in the spare pool (i.e. not assigned to any archive). • Open - The number of pieces of media in the open state. • Closed - The number of pieces of media in the closed state (assigned to an archive and full). • Failed to Unlock - Media in the Appliance that is protected by UDO Guard and cannot be unlocked.

Storage – Online Media • Backup - The number of pieces of backup media in the system. • Requires Cleaning - Media that, when read, is discovered to be an unexpected volume (i.e. media that has been moved from its original slot manually) or media that has generated two or more errors on two separate UDO drives are marked as having errors. • Suspected dirty - The number of pieces of media that have been marked as dirty by the system. • Needs Recovery - Media is in this state prior to being resynchronized during a system recovery. • Failed to initialize - Media in the Appliance that has failed to initialize. Media in this state does not contain any useful file information and can be safely removed from the Appliance using the keypad interface. • Empty slots - The number of empty storage slots in the library. • Total slots - The total number of storage slots available in the library.
